The Wet Nurse's Tale by Erica Eisdorfer
read September 2009
I'm a sucker for historical fiction. And all things British. So when I read a review of this book, I had to check it out. This book is all about the business of wet nursing in the Victorian England, and it was pretty good. A quick read. The main character is quick-witted and does what she needs to do to survive in a time where there weren't many options for unmarried women. I think the characters and the story line could have been a little meatier, though. I can't really describe it...I just felt like the story was unfinished. I would read it again, but I wouldn't buy it. And that's sayin' a lot...because I buy a TON of books!
